If a leader is in charge of a powerful military armed with a great many weapons that can inflict great harm and this leader orders their use it is the tongue that unleashed the harm, just as much as the military and its weapons. Words are powerful. If a spouse says I love you or instead I hate you, the recipient is either uplifted or devastated. If your son or daughter is encouraged or discouraged it most likely came from your words. Likewise teachers and students, bosses and employees . . . etc.
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him : haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! …

GOD as The Creator is the cause for our existence. The Book of Genesis is a beautiful description of the process: whether you believe it literally, allegorically or metaphorical I will not debate that here. Whatever we are GOD has equipped us with the ability to learn, share knowledge, and understand more about existence and the cosmos collectively. Humans also make use of what is learned in the form of applied science – technology. Unfortunately because we have free will (as did the Fallen Angles) we can and do make bad choices. The Bible teaches we have a selfish and sinful nature that only can be overcome by accepting The Sacrificial Death of Jesus Christ. However,we still must apply determination and acquire Biblical Knowledge in order to live the life as a Christian.
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
This seems so evident yet people still deceive themselves so easily. Last Sunday our pastor reminded us of this truth as he expounded on the story of King Saul and David. It reverberated in me because coupled with a decadent culture’s decline was the insistence that people do what is right in their own mind and ignore GOD. The irony? They act so surprised hen they reap the consequences of their actions.
Theft and jail time
Reckless driving; tickets, accidents and higher insurance rates.
Carelessness with hygiene (even sex) a disease or illness.
Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
When you do what is right while it is not guaranteed, you are more likely to reap a positive reward. Clean living with fairness and adherence to the ways of GOD encourages positive results: health, stable family and confidence in your abilities to make way in this world.
SONG: Margaret Allison & The Angelic Gospel Singers – “You Reap What You Sow” from the DVD 50 Years “LIVE” In Birmingham.
“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. For truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom When you accept Christ you also receive The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit: Fills believers with a new spirit.
When you accept Christ you also receive The Holy Spirit
When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. …
When you accept Christ you also receive The Holy Spirit

Today people shy away from talking about sin because The Bible teaches we all are sinners and many people refuse to accept this. Yes we all are sinners from the most horrible dictator to the shop lifter who takes an apple. In human terms there is a difference but to GOD sin is sin:
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.Evil Comes from Sin
Overt deliberate action, unknown effects or unintended consequences? Any of the above can and often do cause harm. What can add to the negative results are subterfuge, callous disregard or unconcern for others.
There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
Once David sinned with Bathsheba he wanted to conceal his sin; he then first wanted her husband Uriah to come home from the war and sleep with her on the pretense he needed his report but that failed . . .
Uriah said to David, “The ark and Israel and Judah dwell in booths, and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord are camping in the open field. Shall I then go to my house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? As you live, and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.”What does the Most Harm
He then created a plan for him to be out in front of the troops and the army to withdraw and leave him exposed to the enemy alone
14 In the morning David wrote a letter to Joab and sent it by the hand of Uriah.15 In the letter he wrote, “Set Uriah in the forefront of the hardest fighting, and then draw back from him, that he may be struck down, and die.”16 And as Joab was besieging the city, he assigned Uriah to the place where he knew there were valiant men.17 And the men of the city came out and fought with Joab, and some of the servants of David among the people fell. Uriah the Hittite also died.
David did harvest negative consequences because of his sinning.
Song: Chris Tomlin: “Your Heart (DAVID)” – Official Lyric Video
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” This includes your life: do not abuse your body with drugs, alcohol or dangerous behavior.

‘”The Law of GOD” is archaic, unrealistic, inhibits my freedom and is childish.’ If this is what you think you are not a Christian. You cannot claim Christ and shun GOD at the same time. While Jesus Christ fulfilled the penalty for all sin (even ours) His sacrifice did not abolish The Law. Cultural and language distortions have confused people (especially modern people) but GOD has not changed: The Holy Character of GOD remains intact.
You honor GOD by living by the moral standard that is revealed in the Bible.
Do not disregard a clean life and responsible stewardship in all things for these things please and honor GOD.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Therefore we honor GOD when we conform to what GOD requires; it is not for our own pleasure that we exist.

Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
“The word “prayer” is mentioned 132 times in the Bible (KJV) in the following verses: 2 Samuel 7:27. 1 Kings 8:28 (twice)Nov 30, 2018”
Repetition yields something new or reinforces what we know
Why attend Bible studies all your life? Why read through the Bible again and again? Why go to Sunday School even when you are in your “Golden Years”? BECAUSE IN LIFE WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW IS ALWAYS CHANGING. Rereading scripture yields truths that apply to “THE NOW” many times – we may have missed the message when we first read that part of scripture. We may believe we have learned all we will ever need to know about GOD and our Christian Faith but have we? Can we?
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Our minds will be filled with something.
The cliche about computers, “Garbage in; garbage out”, applies to our brains as well. Renewing GODS Word will diminish our weaknesses with regard to temptations; help us avoid sining; enable us to be a better example to others.
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
We also learn how to minister to others better.
As we mature In Christ we will discover younger (in Christ and perhaps age) Christians will look to us for guidance, leadership and as an example. Knowing more allows us to be better mentors, teachers and ministers. Being a Christian is a dynamic undertaking.
