GOD’s Ways

GOD’s Ways

Peace and Love

I have on several occasions explained that human standards and GOD’s standards are not the same (like it or not; agree or disagree), if it were not so, GOD would not be GOD. Warm and fuzzy, “Fire and Brimstone”, Judge, Mercy Grantor, or Chastiser? Same GOD, DIFFERENT SITUATIONS.

Hippie flower children gushing with love: yes

but not always.

Peace

Satan challenged GOD and was cast out of heaven; Adam and Eve sinned and were cast out of the Garden of Eden; Humans were so depraved GOD had Noah build an Arch for himself and his righteous family and representatives of all living creatures, then destroyed all the sinners in a flood – along with everything else.

Fallen Angel

Isaiah 40:11 ESV

He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 ESV

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;

Moses was angry on GOD’S behalf after seeing the Golden Calf ? Yes.

Moses was a great leader but succumbed to the constant grumbling of “the ”chosen people” as they wandered in the wilderness.

Moses Striking the Rock:
The Miriam and Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints and Photographs: Print Collection, The New York Public Library. “Moses Striking the Rock” New York Public Library Digital Collections. Accessed October 10, 2019. http://digitalcollections.nypl.org/items/6eb23470-5535-0135-91d8-00d33b36d7cd

Moses and Aaron struck a rock to obtain water for the people as they had done previously, however, GOD had instructed them to speak to the rock in order to obtain water.  This disobedience cost them entry into the “Promised Land”.

_Heaven or Hell: Yes, but Jesus offers peace with GOD – avoidance of Hell and an Eternity in heaven.

Fiery Judgement

Romans 6:23 ESV

For the wages of sin is death (hell*), but the free gift of God is eternal life (heaven*) in Christ Jesus our Lord.

*I added these words for clarity.

Reap What You Sow

Reap What You Sow

Harvest

all images pixabay com unless stated otherwise

Galatians 6:7 ESV

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.

Sow
Reap

This seems so evident yet people still deceive themselves so easily. Last Sunday our pastor reminded us of this truth as he  expounded on the story of King Saul and David. It reverberated in me because coupled with a decadent culture’s decline was the insistence that people do what is right in their own mind and ignore GOD. The irony? They act so surprised hen they reap the consequences of their actions.

Theft and jail time

Reckless driving; tickets, accidents and higher insurance rates.

Carelessness with hygiene (even sex) a disease or illness.

Rotten

Proverbs 22:8 ESV

Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity, and the rod of his fury will fail.

Illness

However, Sow Good and Reap Good

Luke 6:38 ESV

Seeds

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Wheat

When you do what is right while it is not guaranteed, you are more likely to reap a positive reward. Clean living with fairness and adherence to the ways of GOD encourages positive results: health, stable family and confidence in your abilities to make way in this world.

Be in the Moment

Be in the Moment

Mists

all images pixabay com unless stated otherwise

We are but a mist that fades away.

28James 4:13-17 ESV

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.

Put priority on things from above and eternity

Matthew 6:33-34 ESV

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Our plans fade in the light of the Lord

Just Another Day

Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Sunlight on the Grass

Isaiah 55:8-9 ESV

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
